How I Can Help

Welcome. My name is Dr. Cara Spitalewitz, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. For over a decade, I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents to foster healthy relationships, academic and professional success, and a greater sense of self-worth and identity. My approach to therapy is warm, empathic, and direct, with an emphasis on tangible strategies and skills. Within the context of a caring and supportive relationship, I use research-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, tailored to meet the needs of my patients.

Particular areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:  adjustment to life stressors, anxiety (such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and phobias), ADHD, behavior change, depression, OCD, and parent-child relationships. I also specialize in challenges relating to young adulthood and the transition to adulthood, including college applications and adjustment to college, career exploration, identity development, and interpersonal relationships.

In addition to ongoing therapy, I provide clinical consultation and supervision. I also provide short-term executive function coaching to assist with organizational skills and time management.

I am dedicated to providing an accepting and collaborative space for exploration, growth, and change. I love being a psychologist and am so grateful for the opportunity to hear my patients' stories and help them achieve their goals.
